Accommodating City

Cardiff offers a wealth of accommodation choice. We have a most impressive range from five star hotels to small family run B&Bs - you can even stay at a vineyard!

At the top end of the market are two five star hotels, St David’s Hotel & Spa positioned on the waterfront and the Hilton, located in the city centre. Elsewhere in the city centre, grand Victorian hotels like the Thistle and Angel have been entertaining guests for over a century. Almost all of the major hotel names are represented in the city as well, such as Marriot, Jury’s, Holiday Inn and Copthorne.

If you prefer smaller establishments, there are a range of guesthouses from the city centre to its outskirts and beyond.

Quality Guaranteed

Hotels featured on this website that have been inspected and graded by representatives of the Wales Tourist Board are indicated by one to five stars, which have been awarded according to the quality and condition of the facilities and services provided. Emphasis is also placed on atmosphere and ambience, guest care and attention to detail.

Where RAC or AA star ratings are applicable, or if a star rating is undetermined, this has also been indicated.

5 Star - Exceptional quality, with the highest standard of furnishings, flawless service, meticulous guest care and exemplary provision and presentation of all aspects of the business.

4 Star - Excellent quality, with a high standard of furnishings, service and guest care.

3 Star - Very good quality, with a commendable standard of furnishings, service and guest care.

2 Star - Good quality, with a comfortable standard of furnishings, service and guest care.

1 Star - Fair to Good quality, with an acceptable standard of furnishings and adequate service and guest care.

Please note: The Star Grade takes into account the nature of the property and expectation of the guests, so a bed and breakfast is just as entitled to Five Stars as a major city centre hotel.
